You'll *love* the way SE5 is going to handle this... sometime Last month, Aaron posted something on the Yahoo group about how this is going to work. Basically, you'll be able to specify your own damage types in a separate data file, so you could define (for instance) one that does quad damage to shields, half to armor, and normal to internals. You'll even be able to specify total immunity, so imagine powerful weapons that are blocked by the weakest of shields! Not only that, but you'll be able to define multiple *types* of shields and armor, so for instance you could have particle shields and ray shields, with lasers penetrating particle shields and DUC's penetrating ray shields... and anti-proton beams penetrating both types only 50%! That's right, SE5 will have leaky shields and armor actually built in without having to resort to any clever workarounds!

Pretty cool, huh?
