The original Tien Chi hero was good old Mr. Master of the Iron Crutch himself, the disease-spreading hero that everyone loves to hate.
Iron Crutch is a great mage, but stories abound of "Augh! Iron Crutch diseased my pretender/best mage/other hero/etc".
