Centaurs vs Vans : both beasties look relatively alike, in this setup I suppose the centaur domination was mainly due to the much better centaurs'Bless effect.
I've found E9 blessed Vans to be pretty good, and can't see another reason to their utter defeat..

As for fighting SC AD/ID, best bet is to either have some yourself, or some Elem Queenie. BL are clearly inferior, but maybe with top equipment and superior number they can kill one AD/ID.
