Finally someone mentioned Wagner as suitable combat music. I'd recommend Tchaikovsky, Berlioz, Bach, Bartok, Beethoven (especially Beethoven's 5th!), maybe Dvorak, Grieg, Orff, Rakhmaninov, Rimsky-Korsakov, and Shostakovich as other combat-suitable music. You could try Sousa for a more modern-sounding background too...

For other parts, I'd suggest Gershwin, Strauss, Copland, Herb Alpert... how's that for an eclectic mix? Ragtime, lounge, showtunes, and German waltzes (in no particular order, obviously). How can you go wrong?
