Request for next patch (hotkey)
Hi,
When there are a lot of leaders in a province (capitol for example) it is very difficult to put items on a leader back into the lab - there is a LOT of scrolling involved. Would it be possible to add a way to drop items from a leader into the lab?
Perhaps hold down ctrl key and click on item?
Or press some key on keyboard and have all of that leader's items go back into lab?
Or some other alternative?
Thanks,
John

Re: Request for next patch (hotkey)
Magic item management is in need of a lot of work.
My list of suggestions (in order of importance) would include:
1) Some way to tell from the F1 screen if a commander has items, and if so what they are
2) Some way to find a particular item if you know you have it, but don't remember where it is.
3) A larger (or better, expanding as needed) item storage in the lab
4) A way to move magic items between commanders that are both at labs, without going through the labs.
I find that I am forced to record the location of all my magic items in a separate text file, because the alternative is to look through every commander until I find what I am looking for.
Since there is no way to go directly from the F1 screen to the commander character sheet, every time I choose a commander from F1 screen, the position of the F1 screen is reset, and I have to scroll around until I can find where I was before.

Re: Request for next patch (hotkey)
Would be 100 times easier for the developers just to place the Laboratory at the top of the scroll list.
Throw Item Away should still be left at the bottom... since that is rarely used.

An alternative work around for Magic Items is using Renaming. It makes it quite a bit easier if you have a Abbreviation code you use for your commanders to find certain items, like Dwarven Hammers, etc.

Only works if Renaming is turned on, which isn't the default.
Actually, that's one that irks me - given that it seems like a majority of MP players want renaming turned on, couldn't the default be switched on that?
(Personally I don't much care for the idea of renaming the leaders to show the items or magic - it just isn't ... thematic. N2D2, N2D2_DH_RW_EB? *shudder*)

I agree the default should be turned on... the naming convention done by the game is not exactly the brightest.

I think it underscores the dronelike nature of leaders and units in a wargame, no matter how hard you try to give them personality. Ironically, some leaders are so identical and so dronelike that you don't even bother to rename them because they're all exactly the same, with absolutely no variety whatsoever.
