Default Random walk? Other battle wierdness...

My VQ SC was in positive dominion so she did not route when her sole Kraken was killed with a soul slay. But, she then, after an initial charge through the sea toward her enemy (opposing pretender -- Baphomet), she started doing a jig or random walk for the remainder of the turn, never quite reaching the Baphomet. Any idea what could have caused this?
Another wierdness: There were TWO battles: one when the Baphomet showed up alone, and then a second where the army of the same player (shamblers, tritons) showed up under the control of the player's prophet. I'm sure he was disappointed. Any reason why two armies would show up seperately?
Thanks,
Merry

Probably the Baphomet has teleported himself into the province.
Magic Movement (teleport, cloud trapeze, gateway, and such) is the first movement.
After, if after the magic move there're battles, those are solved.
Then there's normal movement.

So on the Baphomet come alone, a triggered the first battle.
Probably he lost, so the province was still held by enemy.
Next in normal movement phase the Prophet and his army get into the province, triggering a 2nd battle.

Thanks for the insight. Any thoughts on why my VQ did a random walk?

Maybe it was a jig of happiness? I don't know why, but I have seen the same thing - my burly CD pretender, when hitting "Attack Closest" in his script, racing backwards away from the enemy for a turn or two, and then finally turning towards the enemy. Weird, and potentially damaging, but not frequent enough to allow easy replication / bug fixing; also not probably not frequent enough to make it a priority fix.
