				Version 2.0 french OOB

		Hi there,

let me start off by joining those who are thrilled to see the new patch and the improvements to the game.
I did spot some things which seem to be 'off' though. So I thought I'd mention them. Hope you don't mind.

Unit 007, AMX 13/90, still has an APCR of 0, which is a problem since it carries mostly sabot rounds for use against afv's.

Unit 90, AMX VCI, should be available from 1/54 but I can't find it anywhere for purchase. (seems to have been the case in the previous version too).

The new legion mechanised company comes with AMX10P's which have a carry capacity of 9. Legion squads are 10 men strong.

While I am happy to see the mech legion cie, there still isn't a cie with their standard vehicle, the VAB:
2nd Regt Etrangere d'Infanterie (REI): 66 VAB, 8 81mm mortars, 8 Milan, 8 20mm AAA, 12 120mm mortars
4th Regt d'Infanterie Etrangere (REI): 66 VAB, 8 81mm mortars, 8 Milan, 8 20mm AAA, 12 120mm mortars
(from the june 89 french obat)

Also the REC is still missing it's SP-ATGM's and has some truck mounted plts added instead. I may be missing something here myself, wouldn't be the first time, but as far as I know the REC is/was similarly equipped as regular army cavalry regiments:
1st Regiment Etrangere de Cavalerie (REC): 36 AMX10RC, 3 VAB, 12 VAB/HOT
vs
1st Regiment de Spahis (RS): 36 AMX10RC, 3 VAB, 12 VAB/HOT
3rd Regiment de Chasseurs (RCh): 36 AMX10RC, 3 VAB, and 12 VAB/HOT
(from the june 89 french obat)

NB french 'regiments' are actually 'battallions' (although somewhat large ones) for those who didn't know that yet.

		narwan,

This is an OOB problem that I have seen before in other versions of this game. Squads too big to transport, not enough vehicles to transport all units, and missing units and formations. The people involved seem to be listening to our "complaints". Ask, and you shall receive!

Concerning the AMX VCI, it seems after some more digging that unit 90 becomes available as 'loose' vehicles in the misc screen from 1/57 onwards (not 1/54 as mentioned in the encyclopedia) and makes its appearance in mech formations somewhere in '59.

And on the REC, it's currently in the infantry section but shouldn't that be an armor formation?

AMX 13 VCI was avaible from 1959 (1959's Type division).

The FFL’s combat units are dispatched between :

- 6e BLB (Light Armoured Brigade) : 1st REC, 2nd REI, 1st REG
- 11e BP (Airborne Brigade ) : 2nd REP
- 27e BA (Alpine Brigade) : 2nd REG

Since 1984 and the creation of FAR (rapid action Force), regiments are equipped with wheeled armored vehicle :

AMX 10 RC and VAB for the light armored brigade
ERC Sagaie and VAB for the 11th Airborne brigade and 27th Alpine brigade.

Just so I'm clear on this issue the standard Legion Mech transport post 1976 is a VAB .....and not the AMX10p's......yes? They are not track mech they are wheel mech?

The short answer is yes, they use the VAB and not the AMX10P.

Legion 'mech' infantry regiments are part of french light armoured divisions (now named brigades if I understood Sparfell correctly). Light armour divisons have/had their infantry in VAB's, heavy armour divisions (and mech infantry) have/had them in AMX10P's.

The info I have on this show's TO&E's from during the 80's. If and when the legion had tracked mechanised formations (with AMX10P's) before or after this I don't know.
Besides the units that are part of regular french formations the legion also has 'independent' regiments and groupings which can be equiped as the situation warrants. 'Heavy' mech legion units (with AMX10P's) are therefor a distinct possibillity (especially under hypothetical wartime conditions) but there are as far as I know no legion formations who have it as their integral transport.
Sorry if my earlier remarks a few weeks back were confusing on this.

Good. That makes fixing this simple. Formations 504, 505 and 506 change all AMX10P to unit 99 ( VAB VTT ) and they will have the vehicle they actually use and that vehicle will hold the 10 man Legion squads.

 I think there's been a misunderstanding

Unit 007, AMX 13/90, still has an APCR of 0 becasue it's the 1967- 1982 version with the 22 HEAT ammo. Unit 008 is the 1982 - 1990 version with 15 sabot and 7 HEAT. The Panhard EBR 90 uses the same gun and also is HEAT equipted.

HOWEVER..... are you talking about the sabot PENETRATION number in the weapons stats of the ammo loadout of the unit?? You write this from the unit perspective but methinks you are actually refering to the weapon ( weapon 126 ) and NOT the ammo load of the unit
