				 New patch...new buyer
This message is really for the developers, etc.
Just wanted to let you know that I bought the game today, and the only reason was because of the new patch you put out.

A friend recommended it last week; looked interesting, but $60 worth of interesting...? Not exactly Walmart bargain bin.

So I've been on the fence. Checked your site today and saw this new patch out. This communicated 2 things:
 1) Shows developers actually care about users/quality of the project. This is extremely rare these days, and appreciated.
 2) This isn't an unfinished/unsupported piece of garbage, as is the standard.

So I bought it. (Technically American Express bought it.) At $60, this better be good. But anyways, just thought you'd want to know that your hard work resulted in at least one additional sale, which I know is nice to hear. (Read: keep the new material coming.)

The devs are awesome... they are on the forums, chat with you, etc. On top of that the player community is wonderful, and have made a ton of maps and mods. The game keeps on going... welcome aboard. |

I'll agree with that, keeps giving. Games been on my machine since about January...longest I've ever had any game other than WoW on my machine. I generally buy 2-4 games a month, play em and store em. I really think its the sheer variety and playstyles available.

Also, you really need to give MP a try. Its good SP, but it shines in MP. |

There are more mods now than sane people have time to try. So extra content is not a problem.
Bugs,.. well there are still bugs. There are always bugs. None of them ruin the game, but some of them are pretty fundamental.

Have a little patience with this game. It is NOT an easy game. Esp. multi-player. And just because you fail w/ 1 nation doesn't mean that you can't rule w/ a different one (or the same one in a different era). |

 | I'll definitely second this. The game has a steep learning curve and great depth. |

				 Re: New patch...new buyer
I want to confirm that this is a great game and an equally great community.
Just be prepared for the most complex, yet consistently logical game you have ever seen. I'm a few weeks shy of turning 56 and have been playing computer games since the dawn of the computer game era (circa 1980), and I have never seen a game like this. Expect to lose a lot in the beginning. I did.

And I don't think anyone really has the entire game figured out, at least not for more than a few nations. The forum is full of postings where someone thought they were king of the hill and then someone else found some new combination that disproved that idea.

Even the pre-game pretender making strategy is almost a game in itself.

The primary thing to remember is that this is very much a rock/scissors/paper game. Every single strategy has a counter strategy that defeats it.
