AIs and black holes

I'm hosting a humans vs AIs game and out of curiosity I checked out the 2nd overall ranking AI's empire which I'm going to war with. To my amazement I saw fleets after fleets of 30-ish ships falling this black hole right beside one of my systems!

If these ships actually jumped through to my place they could have easily overwhelmed my WP defenses and wreck havoc in my flank!

I would love to know if the AI in SEIVG does better than THAT!?
