Well I guess the AI for the Zentradi is rather good. They are attacking me with a fleet of 24 ships, all state of the art, and have been testing my defense for some time. I am about to loose one of my key production worlds. My Game File I am just playing for fun and not much more than that. I have not put a lot into the concentration of the gmae so I am paying the price.

Take a look and have a good laugh.

Well the game crashed and I have no current save so I am frustrated and uber angry at the moment.

One thing is for certain, if Diplomacy and politics are not fixed for SE V, that game is going to suffor a horrible fate when it comes to player reviews.

Damn, I hate crashes and RCE's!

THE AI LURED ME INTO A TRAP

Lol. I was playing Devnull Mod with some changes i made (doubling resource production, added some stuff from Gold D-2 Mod, new shipsizes) High dificulty, High bonuses, Full tech for a great space opera game. And the Drushocka declared war and have probed my borders with small fleets of handfuls of battlecruisers and small carriers.

At which point i'm stroking a fake goatee Laughing shouting "Hahaha I'm more Evil than you" in the traditional "the british always make the best bad guys" style as i procede to warp into the next system!!

Ouch!

They had tested all my borders and needless to say my fleets were spread out trying to protect them all. In this system there was more than 50 Super Dreadnoughts and 10 Heavy Carriers.

I was promptly slaughtered and I'm Now pushing everything to the front lines to form a "token resistance" I can't believe they actually lured me into that trap. And to make it worse the main system into their space that we were contesting over has just had 6 warp points opened into it (probably the drushocka) from all over the galaxy. Looks like i better rethink my plans

Glad to see you were enjoying yourself Atrocities, as i just showed above the AI can sometimes outthink sleep deprived humans, and thats what makes it fun!!

Yes im in the same position now where the serengetti are hitting my recently colonized system deep in their space fromm all sides. With 16 fleet ships.

Yeah, you gotta watch out for those broad, grassy African plains, they have some really sneaky strategies.

Or did you mean sergetti rather than serengetti?

You think thats bad, i just took down a major druk systems defences, process the turn planning my revenge and Then find they Crew Insurrected my Troop Transports!!!!!

Maybe the AI isn't that bad so much as EVIL!!!

Atrocities mentioned crashes.
So far in 18 months of playing I can't
remember having one.

I'm running xp home on a recently self built
P4.

Do other people have these problems?

Crashes caused by se4 are extremely rare on my Viao laptop. Sometimes it'll crash after playing a few thousand turns on a single-player Proportions game, and then I'll find that the savegame is mangled and always crashes at the same point.

I have problems with crashing if I use ALT-TAB to switch between SE4 and other programs during the AI's turns. I'm using Windows ME.

It's not just SE4. Other games also cause crashes when I use ALT-TAB.

I have found that some AI work better than others. I have discovered the value of Null Space and Engine destroying weapons. OMG did that ever hurt.

Medium settings for AI bonus work best for average player, anything less and you can DOMINATE the AI very easily.

If any one is interested in playing the game that I started and seeing how well the Zentreadi (sp) have done, go for it.
