None of my ships are repairing??!!??

What is going on? I have ships at different Space Yard planets some of them with repair ships also there.

Do the space yards need to be IDLE(not building anything).

And why are the repair ships not working?

This has been happening for at least 10 turns or so.

Did you capture these ships? You can not repair components that require technology you do not possess.

I have all the technology.

This is happening to entire fleets as well as individual ships.

The game is becoming unplayable.

It sounds like your Racial Traits may be the problem. Your repair rate may be in the negative. In setting up your race, you may have chosen to little points for your repair rate and put them into other areas like combat and construction. If this is the case, then you will be repairing your ships for a Loooooooong time!

And no, shipyards do not have to be idle to repair - it is in addition to their normal capacity. Similar to retrofitting where a single spaceyard is good for an unlimited number of retrofits, and does not interfere with normal shipyard functions.
But the amount of repair is limited, and per sector, not per ship, i.e. if you have several ships stacked only a few of them, sometimes even only one, will be repaired. Priorities are set under empire status (F11). Also, racial setup may influence the amount of repair available. All the repair capacity in a given sector is added up, then the percentage applied, then rounded.

Try moving all but one of the ships away, so it is the only one that can be repaired.
Also watch out for damaged bases and stuff in the sector that may be taking up your repair points.

If you're playing using Proportions Mod 2.x (?), and have upgraded your game from an earlier Version of Proportions Mod, some components may not be repairable, so you'd need to refit to a design that uses current components.

Also, even in unmodded, there are a few component types which intentionally can't be repaired with a mere repair component - they require a full shipyard. They are the emergency components and stellar manipulations, mainly.

The Stellar components can be repaired everywhere (a common design for such ships is with a small repair bay to allow them to repair themselves). The Emergency components (Propulsion and Supplies) do require a spaceyard, as any modded component with these abilities.

Happened to me just now in my PBW game, although both repairer and repairee were in a fleet that moved (from what I understand repairs are supposed to take place even if the ships move). Try removing your ships that need repair from their fleets, maybe that will allow them to get fixed.

EDIT: both ships were in the SAME fleet and stayed together.
