Purchased Game - Install Question
Well I bought the game and it looks lovely with the higher resolution versus the demo.
I struggle with all computer games mostly as I cannot see the whole map at the same time and assorted other things such as LOS. But the game is so fantastically detailed and the story of Andy and Don getting the code and improving it for years is a great one. So I want, in my own small way, to support them.
Game runs, it's just I didn't get a Programs menu item as I did with the demo - I can find the executables so not the end of the world. Not sure why I didn't get the menu entries? All I did was uninstall the Demo, and removed any remaining folders so I could so a clean install.

Re: Purchased Game - Install Question
By menu entries do you mean the start screen/options page.
Gives some setup choices & lets you select tabs across the top.

Good on you I would actually feel guilty if I had not bought it, they have been supporting us and improving the game for years now.

Re: Purchased Game - Install Question
You should get a link to Gameoptions when you install. I just re-ran the 2017 CD version which is the same for the physical CD or the DL_"CD". There should be a shortcut created on your desktop that is labelled "winSPWW2 V10"
The alternative is to open the game folder, find WW2GameOptions.exe and create a shortcut to your desktop or pin it to your taskbar

Re: Purchased Game - Install Question
It is strange as all other software I have install adds a new menu entry plus shades it in a certain color when it is new.
I see the Game Options icon on the desktop. Most things are in there. But on the menu entries for the Demo I had additional items such as the AP Calculator.
Could you send me a screenshot of your winSPWW2 folder in the Start Menu - All Programs and I can build a similar one. Thanks.

Re: Purchased Game - Install Question
I run the working game from a link to GameOptions on the taskbar and have for years so I'm not sure what you are seeing so you need to post a screen shot of what you see ....I **think** I know but it's been ages since I ran the game other that the way I described
What OS are you using ?

Re: Purchased Game - Install Question
Hi.
Windows 7.
When I installed the Demo there was a winSPWW2 folder in Start Menu --> All Programs. The Game Options link was in there. Plus the AP Calculator. I cannot see the latter in Game Options.
So the Demo installed a folder with Game Options plus other items in the All Programs menu. So maybe the install of the CD version is different? If that is so that is fine.
However I cannot find the AP Calculator anywhere. As I said, it was in the winSPWW2 folder in All Programs along with Game Options.
Thanks.

Re: Purchased Game - Install Question
They are different it would appear. I don't recall how the old one was set up years ago
WW2_APCalc.exe is in the main directory with the main EXE and GameOptions
in MBT it's named MBT_APCalc.exe
Group by type, they are easier to isolate
