Beat the Stampede to PBW!
NGC4 is now accepting players, this is not a Newbie game ("N" stands for New as it is the newest GC game...).
So everyone is invited to join, newbies, intermedies, experts and gods!
It's 200 systems 20 players, FQM custom map by Tesco Samoa!
48 hours play time, 2000 race points, Ancient trait is Banned.
Join "(New) Galactic Combat 4" on PBW now, soon it will be too late!

Re: Beat the Stampede to PBW!
Would it be possible to schedule a change of the turn time from 48 to 72 after a certain number of turns (50? 75? 100?) ? I have heard from 2 potential players now that they hesitate to join because a 200 planet game might become too difficult to manage within 48 hours in the later stages of the game. These are also my concerns, but I do not really think that I will be able to build a significant empire again

As Rutha proved a long time ago, there IS no delete button.
What? You thought the name-changing thread got started intentionally?

There used to be a delete button, but they took it away from us.

Sure.
I'm always open for suggestions.
But I hesitate to set a scheduled turn number for it, rather I'd have it brought up when someone has a too big empire for the current turn time, but I'd guess at turn 75-100 72 hours is ok.
I preferr 72 hours as you then can be away for a weekend without missing a turn, but there has been many complaints in NGC3 about the long turntimes.....

I agree. The problem is that the 72 hours are too long at the start, and way too long if there are players submitting turns not as soon as possible, but a few mins before deadline on principal. I prefer a kind of "within 48 hours if possible, 72 hours maximum as exception". But with such a number of players, and the therefore possible fluctuation, it will be difficult to enforce such a kind of gentleman's agreement.
I think best could be if occasional extensions to 72 hours on personal demand are possible? Makes sense if someone can submit the turn with such an extension, where he could not do so within 48 hours. I only hate it when nearly all turns are in 30 or more hourse before deadline, and the additional time is wasted waiting for players who will not send a turn anyway.
