requesting a bit of advice...
I now have quantum reactor/supplies, so I sent a coupla escort scouts out into EEE territory...so far I count two main Groups of dreadnaughts (108 and 23) plus about a dozen un-fleeted carriers...and a number of singleton dreadies running around scouting...sheesh, dreads fer scouts
how the devil do I counter this when all I have are two fleets (10 each, one is cruisers and destroyers the other is a light carrier plus 1 dreadnaught and two battle ships with a coupla smaller ships)...
yeah, needless to say the EEE have me kinda outnumbered if not outgunned (we are tied in research so far) ...

Re: requesting a bit of advice...
If I were you, I would build more ships. Or at least mine the entrances to your domain. Sats work good for warp point defense too. If you have allies, you may want to call them for help. You may want to build a few smaller fleets of mostly PDC destroyers/frigates and a few beam/torp ships to knock out those stray carriers.
Thats the stuff I would do anyways.

Re: requesting a bit of advice...
some ideas:
build three times as many unarmed escorts and trade them for their DN fleet.
wait for them to either scrap their fleet, or fly it through a few damaging wormholes.
send a ship into the system their fleet is in, and blow up the sun.
yes, the first two suggestions were jokes. if you want a standup fight, build some construction bases at each planet (should take 2 turns if you go cheap on them) and start cranking out a fleet. since you get to build your fleet after they have theirs, you get to tailor yours to be the perfect counter to the technology they are using.
it might help to disrupt their production ability while you do this. in 1.19 the AI is perfectly capable of blowing up stars, so its fair game to do it to them. saves conquering planets, but dont expect them to like you much afterwards.

Re: requesting a bit of advice...
if I remember correctly, the AI is low number, no bonus, I have 5000 points but only used 2500. low tech start. I basically used default for the setup except high point for me ( I am barely able to hang in there giving me the bonuses so far). I do have mephisto's mod and patch 1.19..
lessee....large map, intel off ( it annoys me), no disasters (they annoy too)...other settings are default..
this help???
oh, and BTW the dumb idjits DID run one of their early fleets into a damaging worm hole...12 full-size carriers, coupla dreadnaughts and several colony ships
personnally I think I am dead....they have outscored me 10-1 so far, I am second (of 6) but WAY behind them....
unless I can scare them poopless...oh well
hehe, they demanded that I break a trade agreement with the Barbaro (?), that after they amassed a 3 fleets...1 with 26 carriers, 1 with 88 dreadnaughts and another with 22 dreadnaughts in our shared system. of course I told the barbaro good-bye...
then the EEE withdrew...*wipes brow*

Re: requesting a bit of advice...
I wonder if it'll p'o the EEE if I close a few warp points...hehe
eewwww, I'll say so....they are massing, now get this....236 *()&^ dreadnaughts in our shared system and warning me of a massive offensive there....
some how I don't have a warm fuzzy feeling about this....
