Game Save Loading Bug, or Just Me?
This is with the Demo 0.99: I've started up a few games, but this is the first one I've gotten very far in --- about turn 75. This is where the weird stuff kicks in: I'm experiencing slow-downs in the game during turn processing, closing pop-up function menus leaves a black rectangle on the screen for about 10 - 15 seconds, and loading my save game takes an interminable amount of time --- something over five minutes (I haven't managed to sit around long enough to time it!).
Now, I am sure the CD Music option is set to off, so what is it? Memory leak? This was after I'd been playing for about 3 hrs --- but even after restarting my computer, it's still lagging... This is with a PIII 600 w/128 megs.
Anybody else?

Re: Game Save Loading Bug, or Just Me?
Addendum:
I checked out the Savegame folder to find out the size of the savegame files (logical, no?), and this is what I found:
After the initial named ".gam" file there was some 563 sequential .txt files like this:
savegame_osav0_osav0_osav1_plr_events.txt
savegame_osav0_osav0_osav1_plr_stats.txt
(Insert some 559 sequential lines of the same stuff here)
savegame_osav9_osav9_osav1_plr_events.txt
savegame_osav9_osav9_osav1_plr_stats.txt
I'd also had the game set to Autosave every turn (which it didn't do, by the way --- it only did 9 autosaves for some reason). The overall size of the Savegame folder was almost 12 megs with all these text files --- and that was only with 10 saves!
Obviously there must be some sort of corruption with the data storage routine with the autosave function, 'cuz I really don't see the need for almost 600 save files for each game!

Re: Game Save Loading Bug, or Just Me?
Hi Kodos.
Had the same problem (sort off). Turned on autosave (it did work - I think). A day later turns started getting slow (6 minutes), then saving and loading took minutes instead of seconds. Took a look at savegame folder to find 12.5 thousand of those files you talk about (a total of 92 meg). Deleted everything except the current game which seems to consist of 1 .gam and 2 .txt files and now I am back to fifteen second turn processing and the same for save/load.
Try deleting everything and see if allis back to how it was when you started.

Yes, did that soon after posting, with effects as you describe --- all back to normal.

Re: Game Save Loading Bug, or Just Me?
Hi there,
I am doing a 3-player PBEM game, and
can´t see any graphs in the comparison window.
Setting is that we can view graphs of all players.
Has this problem ever been occured to anybody else ?
Greetings
