Featured Threads: Yes or No?
How do you like the new Featured Thread function, as was demonstrated with the How Did You Learn About Dominions poll? Should we try to keep featuring such threads, or did you find it more of a nuisance?

Re: Featured Threads: Yes or No?
Picky on the wording but I had to say no. Most web forums Im in will pin things to the top but not based on activity or user request. Usually its threads considered an important read to people who are just coming into the forum for the first time.

Re: Featured Threads: Yes or No?
Originally, I had 4 answers on the poll, but I've noticed people give nice thorough feedback Posts with polls, so I thought I'd go with two "summary" choices and let folks explain in more detail than would be possible with a preset poll.
I'll definitely pin any important "hard information" things, such as patch release dates and so forth. I'm mostly interested if folks would like to see, say, a topic or two featured each week just because of lively debate or interesting ideas. Those kind would rotate, getting unpinned once they wrap up and getting replaced by a new highly-active thread.
I'm thinking the active ones come and go so fast that it might not be of that much help to folks, but it still has potential, so I thought the best thing to do would be to simply ask what y'all are interested in.

Re: Featured Threads: Yes or No?
Right now this is a great topic to pin. Both IW & Sharpnel can benefit from knowledge of where the current playerbase originated.
For future I am with Gandalf: FAQs & the like should eb the pinned threads.

I also voted no for this exact reason. FAQs, Dev notes, locations for patches/mods(?) are the types of things to be stickied, not just popular threads.

Re: Featured Threads: Yes or No?
I voted yes because as of now polls which get voted in but without replies are not bumped to the top. With this feature you alleviate the problem.
