Experimental \"Political\" Game
Map will be Pergamos
24 hour quickhost
No restrictions except special rules
We are testing out some simple political rules (surrender rules and enforced peace) grafted from one of the greatest board games of all time, Empires in Arms.
Rule specifics and server info can be found at www.soapyfrog.net/dom2/. Server will start at 6:00pm EST with whatever players happen to have joined.
House rules will be strictly enforced. Political negotiations should be done by email, so please be willing to make your email address available.
Some of the players already connected are VERY green so this will both be an experimental game and a learning game.
Any takers?

Re: Experimental \"Political\" Game
Sounds interesting. However, unfortunately I for one don't have the time for once-a-day-games, but I'd still like to comment the rules:
I believe that six turns non-aggression is not sufficent, at least for anything larger than, say, Urgaia. Six turns is the amount of time a land-based army needs to reach the hotspot, and I don't think that's the spirit of the enforced Peace. I suggest upping it to 8 turns, or even 10 turns when playing on a huge map.
As another side note, I wouldn't accept any players into your game who challenges you on the "unenforcable" rules or even simply asks how you intend to enforce those rules. You need players for that who trust each other. *gasp*
Best of luck finding some. Oh, and if you for some reason switch to twice a week, I am game. (Not that I expect you to.)
And the greatest boardgame ever is either Puerto Rico or Magic Realm. EoA is the most complex of boardgames, I grant you that. /fanboymodeoff

Parganos is smaller than Urgaia, but I agree six turns is not much of a peace treaty. It's more like a cease fire where you can research a couple of new spells and replace losses in your army

Re: Experimental \"Political\" Game
With the peace agreements, do you go by what is currently owned, or what was owned before the war started?
What is you conquered all of players provences except their capital in a single turn? Would you have to give most of those up in the peace process, or is the capital the only provence left for negotiation?

Re: Experimental \"Political\" Game
World in Flames is pretty long, and you need skilled player to play it.
However I appreciate it played with all his expansion (well I've Planes in Flames - not gold edition - Africa a Flame, Asia a Flame, Mech in Flames, Ship in Flames, Days of Decision 1-2, and 5th edition base game).
However due to the too high complexity and the too high time commitment I withdraw myself to a more humble but entertaining Europe Engulfed or Barbarossa to Berlin of GMT games.

Whatever you could grab before the surrender you get to keep, excepting provinces where you do not hold the castle.
In a gamemastered game wth good accounting I think you might be able to do something more sophisticated, but keep in mind this is just an experiment.
As for greatest games of all time, yeah SFB is up there too, along with WiF (I'm actually just about to head out to WiFcon, fancy that). But EiA is hard to beat!!!

Then you have not played ASL. 1830 is the best game though

This sounds tremendously fun! I wish I wasn't up to my eyeballs in work and other dom2 games or I'd sign up in a heartbeat.
