Treelord use?
Treelords have attack 5 and zero defense. Lots of HP, but what good are they?

Re: Treelord use?
give them a good staff and its 4 or 5 per turn for 1 gem (iirc) in battle they absorb a huge amount of attacks but arent worth much offensively..if they aren3 (i forget) have em throw relief

Re: Treelord use?
They aren't worth much, unless you happen to have a pressing need for a nature 4 mage. They are immobile, so they really just sit around.

Re: Treelord use?
Well, if you cough up the extra 8 natures, you can always Transform them. When you do this (similar to Ritual of Rebirth and other life after death spells), you can then resummon them since the game doesn't think they are summoned anymore. The transformed TL still will get stuck with few slots, but at least they are mobile.
Nowhere near as useful in 99% of the situations as the Fire Kings or Air Queen, so I'd like them improved. Some thematic ideas to give to a variation of them:
a) Make them Entish, so they can walk
b) Free auto-attract Vinemen
c) Free auto-summon allies with Vine Ogres/animals/Crossbreed
d) Free Fairy trod ability
e) increase population/growth scale in occupying province
Free Fairy trod could be too much, but the forest only restriction, low leadership and only one available wouldn't be overwhelming ...probably

Usually to GoR or GoH you need a N4 or N5 mage, that is already required to summon the Tree Lords ...

uh you are right forgot that
at least they should be almost impossible to kill via strategic damage spells so e.g. as man perhaps saver as GoH/GoR etc. caster than the fragile crones with treelord staff etc.
but fairy queens have glamour so they can never be targeted by damage spells and are much more useful anyways.
as it is the treelord is one of the few really almost total useless summons . sad but true .

good suggestions .
expect the growth scale suggestion ( should be quite huge like +1% extra ) i think all other solutions still don't make the treelord worth being summoned as long as he has not more slots .

Just wanted to point out that if he would raise the growth scale in a particular dominion up to +3 (which would be very abuseable) it would actually give a maximum bonus of 1.8%.
Since (iirc) each scale equals 0.3% population growth, and considering you can start at -3 for -0.9% growth and end at +3 for +0.9% growth its actually up to 1.8%.
Nothing in this post besides math =P

Re: Treelord use?
I assume you're supposed to summon them in a forest, give 'em a treelords staff, summon up a billion ogres or so, then faery trod around the world taking all the forest provinces with vine creatures. It'd be thematic at least! Hm, can't remember their leadership though, I think it was kinda low, they might need leadership items for ogre leading.

Last time I checked that, I realized that Treelords have only 2 misc slots. So, no staff...
