Retrofitting retrofit nitpicks
I thought I understood retrofitting, that it was at most 150% of minerals/org/rad cost.
But, I obviously don't. I just retrofitted a ship that cost 300 orgs into something that costs 3k org!
So, how exactly does retrofitting work? Does it add up all the costs min + org + rad then multiply by 50%?

Re: Retrofitting retrofit nitpicks
yes, max refit cost is 150% of original cost. using total resources, not individual resources.

Re: Retrofitting retrofit nitpicks
Interesting... I wonder how/if this can be practically exploited?

Re: Retrofitting retrofit nitpicks
well, you could quickly build a ship that used roughly equal numbers of resources, and then refit it into anything else that you wanted.
but thats only abuse if you consider retro-seriese upgrades to be abusive. i consider it to be a feature. if you want to pay the higher cost and take the repair time, you can get the faster build time.

Re: Retrofitting retrofit nitpicks
Can we use this method to convert resources? Say you are low on radioactives. Build a ship that uses lots of minerals and organics but no radioactives, then retrofit to another design that does use radioactives. Then scrap the ship to get some radioactives back.

Re: Retrofitting retrofit nitpicks
Any component added in a retrofit costs more than its basic cost (20% more), so it would cost you 20% more radioactives. Retrofits therefore cannot be used to gain any resource; they can only allow you to gain time by paying extras.

Re: Retrofitting retrofit nitpicks
Thanks, I forgot about the actual cost of the retrofit!
