slave matrix question
I give my commander a slave matrix, and he doesn't follow orders. Just sits there! What's up? Can I get him to follow orders by giving him a master matrix (what's it called?) Any other way to get him to do what I tell him?
Thanks!!

Re: slave matrix question
Slave Matrix is an item that makes its wearer act as if he has cast Communion Slave/Sabbath Slave. That is, they will share the fatique and even boost magic levels of those mages on the battlefield who are under effects of Communion Master/Sabbath Master/Crystal Matrix.
What, exactly, are you trying to get your commander to do? If you want him to not run away from battle, try giving him Slave Collar. I haven't used it myself, but it should stop anyone wearing it from running away from battle. The item can't be removed.

Re: slave matrix question
I want them to attack, or cast spells themselves. They just stand there, doing nothing. Any ideas? Thanks 'n advance!

Actually, it just gives a barely noticeable +5 morale.

Re: slave matrix question
Communion Slaves sometimes do nothing except taking up fatigue. I am not sure why they are sometimes acting as normal and sometimes not, but there should be a pattern.
I thought that creatures with matrices are actually always active, but maybe it AP dependant?

Re: slave matrix question
I think the pattern is that as long as there is at least one Communion Master doing something, then all Slaves do nothing. If the Communion Master or Masters are all tired out themselves, or killed, or paralyzed, etc., then the Communion Slaves wake up while the Masters are out.

Re: slave matrix question
Actually I am pretty sure that I once had masters and slaves doing things simultaneously. I think it had to do with the order in which spells were cast...(master before/after slave)

Re: slave matrix question
Hm. I've now had the same experience. More testing is called for.

Re: slave matrix question
Slaves either help masters to cast spells or do something on their own. So if your masters are scripted to attack, slaves will follow their orders. If you have few masters and a lot of slaves, some slaves (those who're not helping masters) will follow orders too. But in this case I'm not sure which ones will be helping masters and which will be following orders...
