Israel Invades Lebanon - Current Campaign
Hopefully, the first in a series of semi-historical scenarios:
Goes into Scenario Slot 200.
Israel Enters Lebanon I
Date: July 12, 2006
Battle Location: Southern Lebanon
Battle Type: Israel Assault vs. Hizbollah Defend
Historicality: Semi-Historical; based upon early reports of fighting
Design by: Ryan Crierie*
Scenario description: A Hizbollah commando unit infiltrated the Northern border of Israel, and waited for an Israeli Border Patrol unit to make their normal rounds of the border before ambushing them.
During the ambush, both Israeli vehicles in the border patrol unit were destroyed, and six soldiers were wounded, three critically. When medical teams arrived, it was found that two soldiers were missing.
When this Information reached the Israeli higher command and political leadership, the decision was made to invade Lebanon in response to this copy-cat kidnapping, which followed a HAMAS-led Kidnapping operation three weeks ago in Gaza.
As Israeli forces streamed north into Lebanon, they found that Hizbollah was waiting for them, and had prepared the route of advance with IEDs, and prepared ambush positions.*
Note: If played against the AI, the human player should play the Israeli side.
Sources: The News Media and various Blogs covering the action.

My first scenario that I've made and posted to a board anywhere; I'm open to corrections and fixtations from you all to balance the scenario, etc.
EDIT: now on 1.2 with renumbered scenario slot.

Re: Israel Invades Lebanon - Current Campaign
How did you simulate IED's. And Israel didn't invade until they were attacked first. The (libtard)news is trying to make it sound like they just wanted to attack so they (Israel) just attacked out of a wild whim. They bombed bridges to contain the "soldierNappers" from taking them (the Israeli hostages) futher into Lebanon and maybe to Iran. Also to stop further reinforcements for the Hizbollah terrorists (not guerillas-that paints them in the freedom fighter light which gives them abit of an aura of being good). They snuck over the Israeli border and ambushed an Israeli Patrol from hiding (cowardly), also an act of war. Most of the world governments thinks Israel should simmer down and repress/moderate their attacks. In my opinion Israel is holding back as they would have been justified in using Nukes on Beruit or any other city of Lebanon that they wanted in reprisal. I just wish my country cared that much for each of it's citizens. Good job with your map. Thank you for sharing.

Re: Israel Invades Lebanon - Current Campaign
How did you simulate IED's.
By placing landmines at various points on the road. And well, it all comes down to the simple fact that:
1.) Hizbollah is a member of the Lebanese government.
2.) Hizbollah sent a ambush group across the Israeli/Lebanese border and kidnapped two ISraeli troops.
3.) So ergo, Lebanon just committed an act of war on Israel, making the invasion legimitate

Gentlemen,
I have been monitoring this thread form the beginning and I will have to ask you to focus only on gameplay elements (related with WinSPMBT).
Please stay away from any political discussions because this is a gaming forum.
cheers,

Re: Israel Invades Lebanon - Current Campaign
Sorry about that, Pyro.
Anyway, here's scenario II:
Goes into Slot 201
Israel Enters Lebanon II
Date: July 15, 2006
Battle Location: Southern Lebanon
Battle Type: Israel Assault vs. Hizbollah Defend
Historicality: Hypothetical-Historical; based on the logical inference of what the IDF would do when faced with this problem.
Design by: Ryan Crierie
Scenario description: As the INS Hanit, a Sa'ar 5 Corvette steamed off the coast of Lebanon, it came under attack by two C-802 Silkworm Anti-Ship Missiles; One was fired as a plunging attack and missed, the second missile flew a sea skimming profile and hit the Hanit; resulting in severe fires, and four sailors were missing in the aftermath.
An Egyptian merchantman was also hit and sunk in the same attack.
After initial reports of the weapon(s) being a unmanned drone full of explosives, it was confirmed that they were indeed Iranian-supplied C-802 Silkworm missiles, launched by a missile battery manned by about 100~ Iranian troops.
Upon recieving this information, the Israeli Higher Command decided to launch a Commando raid on the missile battery to remove it from operation, as well as gather evidence, as aerial bombing would destroy the evidence that would implicate Iran in the attack.
Accordingly, three Sayeret Commando Teams, for a total of about 40~ commandoes were ordered to execute a night-time assault from the sea.
Note: If played against the AI, the human player should play the Israeli side.
Sources: The News Media and various Blogs covering the action.
EDIT: Now on Version 1.1; with renumbed scenario slot and redesigned Israeli team to make it less sniper-crazy.

Good intention, but the scenarios themselves *are* biased.
I don't see any Israeli power plant or "targeted killing" attack portrayed, nor Hezbollah or Hamas rocket attacks on civilians...
Those would be so much less "sexy" military-wise - and less pro-Israeli too !
Ok that's just arguing for the sake of it, still isn't it true ?

Re: Israel Invades Lebanon - Current Campaign
Looks like Bint Jbail should be the next one if we can get any info and maps of the area. Depending on what can be found out, maybe even a campaign.
