There is the following:
The Australians used many captured tanks in North African and Middle East service.
The Australians had 3 Squadrons of captured Italian M-11/39 & M-13/40 tanks. They painted kangaroos on the sides, glacis and turret rear so that they would not be mistaken for Axis troops. The three squadrons were named "Dingo", "Rabbit", and "Wombat."
This should be more correctly presented as:
The Australian 6 Div Cav Regiment had A Squadron fitted out with captured Italian M-11/39 & M-13/40 tanks.
The Squadron was broken into 3 section and they were equipped as, one section 6 tanks, the other 2 sections with 9 tanks each.
The three sections were code named "Dingo", "Rabbit", and "Wombat."
