Default M-249/Minimi SAW question

Just noticed the stats vary a little from OOB to OOB.

These are just the few I looked at, didn't know if the stats were intentional (differing ROF or anything like that) or just a recalculation that didn't catch up with the ever expanding OOBs.

US & USMC: Acc 24 HEKill 6 Weapon # 13 for both
UK: Acc 24 HEKill 8 Weapon# 19
France & Netherlands: Acc21 HEKill 6 Weapon 13 for each

Wait wait wait, it looks like at least the UK, France and Netherlands use not the standard Minimi but the shorter Para version (349mm-long barrel instead of 465mm, from world.guns.ru and Herstal).
I don't know exactly how MGs are modelled in the game, but I'd guess this version should have slightly lower range and accuracy.

Check the official pages for confirmation (pics with stubby barrel and folding stock and max length of 0.914m instead of 1.040:
Minimi in the UK
Minimi in France
Minimi in the Netherlands

AFAIK the M249 is similar to the "standard" variant, so users of the 'long' version should be at least USA, USMC, Canada, Belgium, Italy.

I'll try to find more info on who uses what exactly, if that can help standardize the versions.

5.56 lmg/saw will have the same range as the rifles (8 in this case) and trivial barrel differences etc can be ignored.

All minimi will therefore have the same stats, eventually.

Cheers

I did some checking and if we ignore any gun of this type that is listed as a [2] ALL of the M249 variants in the game ( 7 nations ) are HEK 6 and accuracy 24 and all of the nations that use the "FN" varient ( 12 nations-- C9 in Canada, F-89 in Australia, "FN-Minimi" in some and "5.56 Minimi" in others ) with the exception of the British version are HEK 6 and Accuracy 21. A range of 8 is common to all.

Both weapons come from the same design but the Minimi and the M249 are not exactly the same weapon. The weight is different and there are different configuations. It would appear that the cartridge used in the Minimi/M249 (SS109 (U.S. M855) is common to both. I have only done a bit of research into this and cannot explain why there are two different accuracies for these weapons. Perhaps someone else on the forum there might know if there is any long range accuracy differences between the two guns ???

However, the one oddball is the Brit version and that should have the same stats as the other "FN" versions

I don't know about about the accuracy values or how they should be calulated for the game. However the CF's manual on the weapon states that the maximum effective range is 600m as opposed the the current 400m used in the game. The slightly longer range than the same cartrige used in the C-7 service rifle is accounted for through the volume of fire.

Only bit of Info I can forward is that quite often the British Mini-mi's are fitted with a SUSAT sight.
