Lugh the Long Handed??
Playing the Tir na nOg (sp? Going by memory here) I got Lugh the Long handed as a hero. He has all kinds of weird abilities: valor, forge bonus (which is odd since he has no magic) sneak, regen, is sacred, holy, etc. etc.
Is this character REALLY suppose to be in here? He almost looks like a test unit, what with the crazy abilities and let's not forget the odd graphic. He has a sling with a spear thru his upraised arm. Whaaaaa? Took a screenshot but not sure how to post it here.

Re: Lugh the Long Handed??
I also attached a picture of Lugh. He has no description, but he has a great deal of magic (3F3A2N4H). He looks more powerful than my god (a 9F Dragon)!!
He has super-human stats (except for his low protection due to almost no armour, and his APs, which are normal). He has Awe+4, 100% fire resist, glamour, fire shield, a siege bonus, a forge bonus, and darkvision (?). It appears that the spear is supposed to be floating behind his arm, as it is magical, and the description says it has "small area fire."
He seems like a very weird, very interesting character which, sadly, has no description ( ).

Re: Lugh the Long Handed??
You can probably search for information on Lugh if you wanted to know more about him before they patch in the description. He ruled as king of the Tuatha in celtic mythology. He was well known for his Spear of Lightning and a lot of the later celtic mythology about Cuchulainn is based on Lugh. He was also known as Lugh the Radiant if I remember correctly. One of the coolest gods from Celtic Mythology.
Just google Lugh Lamfthoma (spelling probably off on the last name)

Re: Lugh the Long Handed??
blah, I'm so scatter brained. Don't rrecall the magic paths but suppose would make sense he has them. Just wondering what the deal is with him. Kris O, anything?
Thanks Foodstamp, thought he sounded familiar but I'm rusty on my Celtic lore.

Re: Lugh the Long Handed??
I think I can answer the question about all his abilities as well. In the old celtic tales of Lugh, he was a jack of all trades so to speak. Except unlike most jack of all trades, he was really good at all of them. That would probably explain the amount of abilities he gets.
As far as the forge bonus goes... I may be confusing him with another diety here, but I believe in the Tuatha's struggle with the Fomorians, he forged the weapons used by the tuatha?
Oh one more thing about the weird placement of the spear in the graphic. Lugh's spear had a life of it's own. In combat he would wield a sling "The Rainbow" and his spear would fight next to him. That is why it is floating next to him.
Also! The awe and the fireshield probably have to do with him being known as the radiant. There is a wonderful description of him in an old celtic tale where the druids describe him as the sun rising in the west. I love the way the celts described their heroes

Re: Lugh the Long Handed??
Sounds like Lugh would be a good candidate for a nation-specific Pretender, instead of a national hero.

Re: Lugh the Long Handed??
Personally that's what I think heroes should be. Although he seems a bit powerful so maybe drop some magic. (2-2-1 maybe) Cool abilites, head and shoulders above your best troops, thug level and easily made into an SC.
Or if you want them to just be limited, remove item slots to keep their thematic gear... i.e. lugh would lose both hand slots (can't remember if he had cool armor).
