Sieged fort questions
If your fort is being sieged, and you cast Infernal Disease on your fort province, are you guaranteed that the disease demon will attack the enemy forces? Or is there a chance that it will attack one of your own commanders in your fort?
The disease demon shows up as an indy army unit, that's why I'm concerned.
And are assassin units in your fort able to assassinate enemy commanders who are doing the siege?
Not that this might have any relation to any MP games I am in or anything. If you are in an MP game with me and are planning on sieging a fort of mine, please don't let this post discourage you in any way.

Re: Sieged fort questions
If it's anything like Manifestation, and it probably is, the target will be chosen (apparently randomly but it's not certain) from all commanders in the fort and province combined. So yes, it can attack your own commanders.

Re: Sieged fort questions
Well, I know it's an old topic, but I dig it up
I have a contrary situation: If I siege an enemy fortress, can I use infernal disease to get rid of enemy commander in the fort?

Re: Sieged fort questions
It's explained perfectly in the manual AFAIK. Ritual spells target the enemy side in a province for sieging/besieged nations, for other nations the target is random.

Re: Sieged fort questions
Except for army-sending spells which disappear, like Send Horror or Ghost Riders. I think those always attack the besieging army, no matter who casts it.

Re: Sieged fort questions
Disease Demons will always attack enemy commanders. So if you are besieging, they will attack enemy commanders inside the fort, and if you are being besieged, they will attack enemy commanders outside the fort. Blood magic is nice since everything is done according to the precise wording of the agreement.
A Manifestation will attack whom ever it feels like, since it was summoned only with the promise of killing a commander.

Re: Sieged fort questions
Except if you've Horror Marked a commander inside, and none of yours have marks. Manifestations prefer Horror Marked commanders.

Re: Sieged fort questions
Actually, I think it could be more complicated than that.
The manual implies the spell goes through commanders in the province in order, and checks against each of them in sequence. If so, a horror marked enemy commander who is 10th in the list only has a 1/2^9 (1/512) chance of being attacked. If the 9 commanders above him in the list are friendly, they would have the best chance of being attacked.

Re: Sieged fort questions
The manual claims the Ashen Angle from Manifestation always attacks either enemy commanders or the casting mage. Can it attack friendly commanders in the target province as well?
