SEV Monitor Resolution
I got myself a UMPC the other day and then I noticed that SEV has a minimum resolution of 1024 X 768. The UMPC screen only does 1024 X 600. What I was wondering is can SEV be forced to accept the 1024 X 600 resolution? Other than the screen resolution the UMPC beats the minimum requirements by about 30%. It would be nice if I can force the screen resolution down to 1024 X 600, because when my wife drags my fanny down to the mall, it would be cool to play SEV on a computer a little bit larger than a PSP.

Re: SEV Monitor Resolution
If you could, the info and button panels would be mashed into each other. They are staticly sized objects, lacking any sort of scaling.
You can always run SE4 on it, which went down to 800x600 resolution. SE3 would also work nicely.

Re: SEV Monitor Resolution
I didn't think it was possible, but wanted to make sure. Thanks for the reply, I got SEIV to run on it yesterday, so I can conquer the universe from the comfort of a mall bench.

Re: SEV Monitor Resolution
On a related note I am still use my old CRT VDU for my new computer and although SE5 runs fine (apart from a security problem actually saving turns) every few minutes there is a brief white flash on the screen. Apart from that it displays fine.

Re: SEV Monitor Resolution
But it is the vertical rez that is too small, not the horizontal.
I would expect it to work just fine, if it could accept the numbers.

Re: SEV Monitor Resolution
I tried SEV on a Flybook (1024x600 resolution, ATI Radeon 200M chipset) and it would only show a grey screen (though the background music started, suggesting that the program was otherwise OK).

Re: SEV Monitor Resolution
I'm trying to play SEIV on my UMPC and it keeps wanting to play with a screen resolution of 1024x768. There's only one problem with this, my UMPC's screen resolution is 1024x600. Is there any way to force the game to play at that resolution? Also how do I get the game to play at 800x600 other than changing my resolution?

Re: SEV Monitor Resolution
SE4 should automatically open to 8x6 or 1024x768, whichever is the largest without exceeding your desktop rez.
Is the desktop larger than the visible area, such that you can scroll the view around a bit and possibly confuse the game?
What about running a batch file to set the screen rez down to 8x6 just long enough for SE4 to start, then going back up to 1024x600?
The windowedSE4 tool has an addon for win9x systems that uses that trick to erase the black border properly.
