				 Girlfriend Pretenders
How many people have named your female pretenders after your girlfriends? I noticed Kasnavada name his pretender "Claire" in the MP game we're currently in together, which of course does not seem to inspire the fear and terror that a god of Abysia might otherwise be entitled to. Even funnier was when he lost her on the second turn or so to some independents...
But I'm not one to talk, as my goddess of bloody Sauromatia is called Frannabelle, for my girlfriend Francesca.

I wonder how many other innapropriate names we've all had for our goddesses, just so we could tittilate ourselves by living the fantasy that our girlfriends may one day be part of our Dominions 3 experience?

				 Re: Girlfriend Pretenders
In TigerCat I have a warrior mage (knight mage) named "Lady Karin" after my girlfriend Karin. I'm playing MA Ulm so it fits alright. She even knows and approves of the whole thing.
Oh, and if ever her beloved avatar should get killed she will personally take care of that person. Just so you know. |

				 Re: Girlfriend Pretenders
Hum, she's not named after my girlfriend at all, since I don't have any. She's named after the main heroine of Claymore (an manga by Norihiro Yagi).
If you've seen the anime version or read the manga, even her appearance would make a bit of sense.

And, it wasn't just some undead, it was 3 skellies spamming death mage + 20 or so longdeads. A bit harsh for a battle during the second turn. I've disposed of them since, and got a pretty good death site from it !

				 Re: Girlfriend Pretenders
Well, I don't have any pretenders named after my girlfriend(since I don't have one ), but Yoth'Shothogg(in said game with Claire and Frannabelle) is a play on Yogg'Shothoth. |

				 Re: Girlfriend Pretenders
The closest I got to naming any unit after someone I know is in the (deceased ) Sar Elad mod, where the Sar Eladian name list has many names of people I know (because they have a Hebrew nametype and I live in Israel )

Sounds like you need to get your wife to play coop with you, Gandalf. |

I probably should try again to get her interested. She has a particular affinity to Cthulhu so if I talk up Rlyeh I might have a chance.

				 Re: Girlfriend Pretenders
I have a habit of naming various pretenders after my young daughter. The idea of the cute little toddler actually being an aspect of a godlike undead creature has a certain appeal. For example, neither sleeps or cares about their bodily functions. Unfortunately, if my wife was to realize what I was naming after the child, I may find myself in trouble, so I have the opposite incentive Gandalf does to get the wife playing… |

 AHahah.
I name my pretenders off characters I've played. My fiance. And friends.
