What does "superstition increasing" event do?
Does anyone know for sure? I've got it the last turn in my capital and obviously it caused a lot of unrest but additionally my dominion went down from 8 candles to 5 at once. I'd just want to know if it is this event I should thank for it or someone is preaching heavily.

I think it is random event that can also come from Baleful Star spell.

I just want to know if it lowers dominion or not.

Of course it does. What is superstition else than worshipping a false god or inexistent entities ?

Melancholia. Drops by 30-50 and lowers dominion, as I recall.

I'm pretty sure the superstition part implies dominion loss, but 3 seems like a lot.

Yes, but it no easier to lower dominion that much by preaching.
Stone idol, maybe... But it also works as level 3 priest. It is my capital and my god is there so it's really a bit strange and I can't explain it.

Re: What does "superstition increasing" event do?
I think it is entirely possible for the superstition to lower your dom score by 3. I would be surprised if it was only 1. Merchants in the temple might be of a similar scale, while the fertility festival is probably lower. THere might be more.
Baleful star is another event (evil omens something). I don't think that one lowers dominion. Only decreases the luck scale and adds unrest.

Thanks for exact answer, Kristoffer.
I'll look at my candles the next turn. Actually it would be quite strange if someone preached at my capital...

Re: What does "superstition increasing" event do?
The dominion drop will be because of the random event. You have too many troops patrolling at that castle for any stealth unit to remain hidden, even one with +30+ stealth.
