Sombre Rebalance: Polod EA, MA
UPDATED
V1.1
Just a little fix of an error with a graphic. Nothing more. I'll put more work in in the near future though and come up with a more substantial update.
--------------------
This is the first of a number of rebalances I'm planning on doing. Stats are changed, graphics might be tweaked and I generally seek to bring other people's hard work, hopefully, into some balanced mp play.
In this case it's Leonnn's Polod both EA and MA. I saw a huge amount of potential in this mod and I'm hoping he'll give his approval to this variation of it. I'm not trying to steal his work or compete with him, just make a version of it that I feel is better balanced for mp play.
The original mod can be found here: http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=39908
I think you should check it out, as well as this version.
I have attached my own version of it in a zip. I will update the version as more balance feedback comes in and if Leonnn adds more content to the original mod.

Ah yes I'll fix that tonight. The graphic isn't missing, it's just rename - I forgot to point the unit to the renamed file.

Re: Sombre Rebalance: Polod EA, MA
Sombre, this seems like a great idea to me-if you have any interest, you're welcome to take a look at Aksum. I should have it (barely) playable by sometime this weekend (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday), and while I'm trying my best to make it balanced (and to look good-I've been updating the graphics regularly), it's a pretty complicated mod, and I can't actually get in there and test it out myself.
You'd be my first pick to give me advice on graphics, and you've been playing and making mods for long enough that you ought to be able to understand balancing issues better than I can.

Hehe you are also welcome to balance the Dominions 3000 nations with eachother (not to vanilla, they are much stronger and should be) no need to go into details, just looking at large imbalanced would be enough

Re: Sombre Rebalance: Polod EA, MA
I have a lot of projects so I have to pick carefully where I'll do a rebalance. I want to update my zepath mod rebalances and do a few others, which I have planned out in advance. So it doesn't leave much chance of me working or rebalances of yours.

Well, that I understand. You, of all people, I *know* are very busy--and frankly, I wouldn't want to distract you from making mods. And I'm getting more and more confident in the balance. I do want to applaud and encourage you in this kind of effort, though, I think it's very beneficial for people who are new to modding-newer than I am, even, since I've got atleast 1 nation, awful though it may be, under my belt-to get as much education and advice from more experienced players. '
I wish more people who had been on the boards for a long time were interested in taking the time to do what you're doing.

Re: Sombre Rebalance: Polod EA, MA
Hello All!
Been a long time since I last read this forum
Thank You Sombre for Your take on my mod - it is nice to see it didn't die a natural death
Of course You are free to modify it if You think it needs it.
As for me - I have some free time right now, and I'm thinking about doing a better version of my mod - in fact i want to change almost everything (almost) as well as renaming it

Re: Sombre Rebalance: Polod EA, MA
Well in the end I made relatively minor changes - mostly just balancing stuff for a mod game. It's a fun mod with a strong flavour and I hope you do get around to working on it again :]
