Default Cool occurence

Was defending against the Russians on the Eastern Front in early 1943.

My left flank was hard pressed as the (AI Tank Heavy) force was pushing with KV's. T-34's, and assorted light tanks. To my front was a lake/river with two bridges crossing it. Not the only route to my left flank but the easiest and most direct one for the AI.

I was preparing to either reinforce or fall back when I remembered (after having read it here) that heavy arty can destroy bridges.

I called in a mission on each bridge not having a clear LOS on either. On my third shot the nearest bridge was hit and went down followed by a message that a KV-1 and T-26 were destroyed - presumably by falling into the river with the collapsing bridge!

How cool was that!

Those are great moments. When I played SP 1 "back in the day" I used to put engineers next to bridges when I was defending because if a tank tried to roll over it, the engineer would assault with a satchal charge that would drop the bridge. Instant kill every time . That's called using the terrain to your advantage. Keep it up.
