Confused #gcost?

Hi fellas.

I've been testing the crap out of my mod lately, and halfway through a game I pretty much realized I couldn't afford to pay my armies anymore. I looked around and realized that in efforts to be fair I actually ended up paying my soldiers a fortune.

Far better then the buggers deserve.

Anyway, I ended up overpaying them by about 50% on average comparing to other units that similar, such as Ulms. This makes me wonder, really, how does one actually come up with the gcost figures anyway? Rcost is easy, its done automatically basically. But gcost seems to be fairly arbitrary. I was wondering if there was actually any logic or system for coming up with fair gcost figures?

Cheers
SD

Just comparison with dom3 troops really. So a bog standard human infantry is about 10 gold. A veteran 11 statter is like 12 gold. A knight is around 40 gold etc.
