Diablo 2
I have the original version of this game, and I was curious how Wal-Mart was still selling this game when it's probably close to 10 years old. Well, I looked at the packaging the other day, and it did mention Vista. My game doesn't mention it. Is there a patch I can use to run this game using Vista?

Re: Diablo 2
You'd probably have better luck posting on a D2 site.

Re: Diablo 2
Whether you buy a new copy or use the one you already have, you'll get the exact same executables after applying the latest patch... You just won't have the expansion content with your original copy. Either way, the game runs fine on Vista.

OK. thanks for the info. I do have the expansion disk, but it still came out before Vista. I'll go check for patches.

Re: Diablo 2
Oh this is too weird. I've just started playing again myself, out of sheer boredom. Heh. But yeah, once you install, and go to Battlenet, it will update itself to the latest version, which works fine under Vista, see here: http://us.blizzard.com/support/artic...ategoryId=3202

OK, thanks. I'll check it out. I still haven't installed the game yet, but I did download some of the latest patches. I just started playing SEV all over again. It's been awhile.

Re: Diablo 2
Well, I finally installed the game on my computer. Unfortunately, I couldn't get to Battle.net because I was getting an error message trying to start the game. So I went ahead and installed the latest patch I oould I find and now it works just fine. Thanks. Now I do have another question. Should I go ahead and install the expansion disk, and if so, do I need to find and install the latest patch for that too?

Re: Diablo 2
Definitely install the expansion disk; it's not worth playing Diablo 2 without the expansion at this point. If you can't log on to battle.net after installing it, you will need to manually install the latest patch.

Re: Diablo 2
I played through Torchlight recently, and off the back of that bought D2 and Expansion again. Torchlight is a fun little game but D2 is still the king.
