the Dom3Minions Server upgrade is about to start
STATUS: Dom3 games will be down

Be sure to upgrade your copy of Dom3 before doing turns in games you are in.
Version 3.26 should not have any problems with opening and continuing games that were started with v3.24 but it IS important that the HOST and all of the PLAYERS run the same version when a game hosts.

Re: the Dom3Minions Server upgrade is about to start
OK now its morning. Im fresh, Ive taken a handful of meds, and I am going to upgrade to the new Dom3 patch.
I am starting by taking down all of the Dom3 games. Thats 70 of the little blitz type always open games like vsAI and SRAND. And 22 larger private Dom3 games.

Also a dozen or so MP games for other programs than Dom3, 2 online worlds, a dozen web domains, etc. Since most of the games I worry about impacting are going to be down anyway, it makes a good time to run a general operating system update (crosses fingers, knocks on wood, says nice things about Debian)

Re: the Dom3Minions Server upgrade is about to start
In the past I have allowed the people who are have requested and are running larger games that I host, I have given them the choice of whether or when to upgrade their games. Mostly just out of consideration and "proper internet server" etiquette.
But since this patch includes some things which are very important to my servers operation I am not allowing a choice this time. Everyone upgrades today (knock on virtual wood). Besides which, the "talk to your players and decide when you want to upgrade" didnt actually tend to work out very well in the past.

OK Dom3 is patched and games are being restarted. These games are updated and all timers have been reset. That should give enough time for everyone to patch their copy of Dom3 and get a good turn file in.
The following game are up and ready again:
standardoptions
newbcradle
nonamegame2
earlygoon
SiliconWolves
smegheads
wizarddidit
nimbys
newbiewave1
newbiewave2
NewPretenders
Thuggame
Thuggame2
Thuggame3
newbsgonewild
pillow
kdom

OK all of the smaller always-open games are back up. And new ones generated.http://www.dom3minions.com/HostedGames.htm |
