Undead/lfeless and regeneration and reinvigoration
How are undead/lifeless affected by fatigue, regeneration and reinvigoration vs regular living troops?

Re: Undead/lfeless and regeneration and reinvigoration
They don`t get fatigue normally (through fighting), only through spellcasting, as effect of enemy spells or from items (like flaming helm).
Lifeless creatures don`t regenerate.
Reinvigoration works as usually.

Lifeless creatures don't regenerate *unless* they got regeneration from that special spell of Pangaea's, whose name escapes me. I had to copy that spell for the Tomb Kings mod nation, which has a national spell called "Mend the Dead" IIRC.

Re: Undead/lfeless and regeneration and reinvigoration
I still have many unanswered questions about this, even after many years playing this game :
- How can one know if an undead will benefit from regeneration or not ? (except by testing it)
- Does the "undead" tag include the "lifeless" tag ? (as it does for "darkvision")
- What does the invisible "inanimate" tag mean/imply for an undead ?
- Is there is an arbitrary list of "withlife" undead and "lifeless" undead ? "alive" undeads that would benefit from regen and not be considered "lifeless" (ghouls, vampires, etc ?) and really "lifeless" undead that could not regen and be targeted by "Shatter" for example (all kinds of skeletons ?)
Thank you guys for your answers

Re: Undead/lfeless and regeneration and reinvigoration
another one for the panel:
'lifestealing' weapons: they ONLY work for undead? or do they work for regular units? if a unit is lifeless, does he get help from a shadow brand? or standard of the damned?
i could never really figure this out.

Lifestealing works for undead. But you cannot steal life from the lifeless.
You know, vampires have lifestealing.

Re: Undead/lfeless and regeneration and reinvigoration
Lifeless units have the same icon as constructs do, which is, surprise, named "Lifeless". Look at the Master Lich for an example.
Units with the lifeless icon are lifeless. everything else is not lifeless. Undead can be lifeless, but need not be. By the way, lifeless units have their own aging mechanic, determined by earth magic.
Regeneration does not affect lifeless units. Lifedrain weapons damage them, but do not steal life from them for the attacker. Reinvigoration works for them just like for everyone else.

Re: Undead/lfeless and regeneration and reinvigoration
Ooops, you're damn right ! I don't know why I was persuaded that the "lifeless" tag was included in the "undead" tag
Anyway, thank you so much Edi ; I was blind, but now I see !
What's more, I understand now that the "inanimate" tag that I see on the mod inspector is just another word for the "lifeless" tag that appears ingame. Double facepalm !
Things were just a lot more simple than I wanted to see them...

Re: Undead/lfeless and regeneration and reinvigoration
But inanimate units can benefit from life stealing. Used a gargoyle with a blood thorn to kill 800 maenads last game. I lost many gargoyles from accumulated scratches before that...
