Default Loaded passengers

I'm returning after a very long time away and playing the original SP. How can I find out what passengers are loaded on a carrier without resorting to the unit or HQ Menus. I seem to remember being able to step through loaded units when the carrier was selected.

Welcome back chris h. To find a carrier's passenger simply right-click it and it'll give you the unit designation. However to find more about the passenger you gotta dismount it (unload-"l") and select--preferably at the end of turn and out of LOS/firing range of enemy units.

You can remount (or even dismount again) afterwards regardless of MP remaining but due to a relatively recent patch there are significant MP costs to both units. So doing this (unload and/or load) at the beginning of your turn will leave you with fewer MP's or firing opportunities for carrier or passenger. Plan ahead!
