Multiple tech levels from one ship?
Is it possible to get more than one level of a tech from a single analyzed ships if there is more than one component that is two or more levels higher than the level you have? For example, if you have point defense level 2 and you analyze a ship with 3 level-5 PD cannons, will your point defense tech go up by 3 levels or just one?

In your example, you would gain 3 levels in PDC. You had it right; for every component more advanced than your current levels, you gain a tech level (upto the max tech level of the components you are analizing).

Really? I didn't think that was true. Seems like it was just +1 per ship, unless you had multiple types of component (or hull size) that required the same tech area.

100% positive that you get 1 level per ship, not 1 level per component.

You get +1 level for each unique component.
EG:
analysing 3 PD cannon V's will get you +1 level in point defense.
Analysing a Cargo bay 3, and a supply tank 3, will get you +2 levels in cargo.
Analysing a medium carrier with Fighter bay 3's will get you +2 levels in fighters.
