Do you mean what to use to convert .MOD files? With 3D Studio Max?

I have Max but it can't open .mod files to my knowledge. I have an app that can convert .mod files to .lwo and vice-versa but LW7 wont open the converted files.
I have Modviewer but that does not save the files - I have to use a screen grabber (Hypersnap).
Aren't there any editors that can handle .mods. GMAX doesn't either.

Elowan - Try searching through the SFB forums, I believe that the .mod files used are actually created with a 3D Studio Max plug-in. I thought that the plug-in had been made available to the public almost a year ago.
Otherwise look for the program 3D exploration - it has to open lightwave objects and save them as a 3d Studio Max file.

I appreciate the lead. But am not familiar with SFB. I did a search on that and got a German radio station among other things.
As to 3D Exploration - it's now called Deep Exploration and I have it. I was not aware that .mod files are/were compatible with 3D Max.
Do you mean GMAX? It's strange that GMAX will not open .max files but will .mod files?

SFB = Sender Freies Berlin?, probably not
SFB = Star Fleet Battles?, more likely
