Another question...
Just from glancing over the modding 101 page it doesn't appear possible, but I thought I'd ask anyway... Is there any way to restrict a component to a type other than the normal vehicle type values? For instance if I wanted to restrict a weapon to only heavy troops, not light troops, or only specific ship hulls... Can that be done?

Re: Another question...
The only way I can think of to do that is to make the component too large to fit on the smaller Versions. I don't think you can restrict things to only the smaller sizes of a vehicle type.

Re: Another question...
Maybe:
Make a component that is ridiculously large
Create a special mount that will decrease the size of the component, just for your hull
and bingo?

Re: Another question...
The mount system works; also if you're doing it for troops you can do what PvK did in the Proportions mod: give the light troop weapons the engine ability, and set the heavy troop to engines allowed = 0. The engine ability won't actually do anything for the troop, but the heavy troop won't be able to use that component.
