way to view game progression?
Is there a utility that takes saved game results files, and shows the history of who is in control of different areas over time (e.g., a tesselation of the space, with dominant control depicted) so we can review war progress?
Thanks,
Merry

Not really. The comparisons chart is the closest thing to that in SE4.

Re: way to view game progression?
Darn! I am no computer wiz, but I bet some smart programmer could find a way to take all the .gam files and analyze them to make a sort of "movie" of the game, showing the growth of competing empires, and indicating battles! One might even annotate these, and send them around to other players for a post-game discussion. I believe someone did something like this for Stars!, where circles indicated the strength of force concentrations. It was really neat to go back and see what your opponents were up to!

Well, I guess if you wanted to you could print screen each turn and create a Gif out of them. or something similar.

Re: way to view game progression?
That would require decrypting the savegame files first, which is rather hard to do. And, it is bad.
