Continuous rating of a shield
Hmm, Suicide Junkie, can you explain what this means? I found it in your Syndicate Catalog for P&N on PBW...
One (1) x Standard Shield Generator
* Shield rated at 75 adu surge strength
* Rated at 18 adpu continuous strength
* Recharge rate of 1 adpu
I know that it means the ship has 75 shields and regenerates 1 shield per turn, but what is "18 continuous strength"?

Re: Continuous rating of a shield
I added a reference thingy at the top of that page, at Fyron's request not long ago.
Basically its crystalline effect.
The shield will block 18 damage from each hit continuously.

Re: Continuous rating of a shield
Never knew that shield generators had the crystalline armor ability... they don't in MY copy of P&N 2.5 PBW...
edit: oh, of course, you have some crystalline armors on the ship, and being armor, they always get hit before the shield generator... of course if you lose the armor then you don't get the magic regeneration anymore, but I guess that's a bit too much detail for a simple ship spec

Re: Continuous rating of a shield
Naturally, damage will degrade any and all of a ship's abilities.
