Default PBW: now that\'s quite the trick.

I'm playing a KOTH game on PBW. It's early, so no contact yet. We upgraded to patch 3, I sent in my turns.

Here's where it gets weird. The AI is running my planets, has been since we patched. But my ships go where I tell them, my ship designs and research hasn't been changed.

More bizzare, I colonized a planet the same turn we upgraded. I'm getting "New Colony" Messages for those two planets EVERY turn since.

That was exactly what I did in one game...

Nah, if I screwed up I'll just live with the problem..

EDIT: Though, that doesn't explain why my ship orders went through, but not my colony orders..

Phoenix-D,

The Last four .plr turns you have summitted have been exactly the same file size. The statistical odds against this being the case even for two consecutive turns normally are staggering.

Most likely what's happening is you have separate installs for 1.78 and 1.84 on your computer. And you are downloading and playing the turns normally using 1.84, but when it comes time to upload your .plr file you are browsing to the 1.78 directory by accident and uploading the same .plr file over and over. I strongly suggest you go to the 1.78 install and delete the .plr file there to avoid this with future turns.

The double colonize message is a bit odd, but I have seen cases where the AI takes a turn for a player in a sim turn game and the game will send duplicate Messages. I thought at first it was a feature built in so that the player doesn't miss important log events when they miss a turn, but it doesn't happen consistantly, so I am not really sure it's that.

I have no problem setting the turn back a few turns to undo any damage the AI did to your empire. Have you mentioned the problem to yoru opponent?

One of two posibilities. Your ships had orders left from the Last turn which you did play properly. Like a ship going from one side of your empire to the other. Or the AI coincidentally happened to give the ships the same orders you did. Not all that extrodinary in the early game. The is no posible way the could have gotten part of your orders and not the other part.

To what extent will the AI follow the orders of the previous turn made by the human?

Like is it compelled to play out all the orders give by the human in the previous turn (building facilities or ships in a queue, ship moves etc) if possible. Or does it have some discretion and is able to cancell the human players orders and substiute its own?
