Default Need more engine .bmp\'s?

Want to put lots of different types of engines in your mod? Too bad SE4 only has 6 engine-looking bitmaps... well 7 if you count the one that's used for the Gravitic engine in P&N... Well you've come to the right place - I found I left my computer on as I was going to bed so I decided to fool around a bit with that "tech grid" idea, noticed I had about 10 types of engines, so I wound up making a Generic Engine Model - it looks reasonably close to the existing engines in SE4, and all you have to do is run Moray, edit the textures to whatever you want for your engine components, and you can run off as many of them as you need - presto, instant engine bitmaps!

Now, to do the same thing for the other 260-odd bitmaps

edit: actually, that's not a bad idea... sort of "my own flavor SE4", with sort of cartoony graphics... or maybe anime SE4, since Doga supports cel shading (why doesn't anyone use that on their shipsets? pardon the "UT2K3 kiddie" expression, but that would be UBER 1337 )

Wonder what program Aaron used to create the graphics for the game... maybe if we bugged him enough we could get him to release the actual model files to the modding community - that would be cool

edit: oops, forgot to mention where you can find this little model - it's in the "Data & Graphic" thread at the "New Scenario & Mod Forum"!

aaron did not do that much of the artwork, he's mostly a coder. Of course, he did do some (just not all of it)

When a cat is dropped, it always lands on its feet, and when toast is dropped, it always lands with the buttered side facing down. I propose to strap buttered toast to the back of a cat. The two will hover, spinning inches above the ground. With a giant buttered cat array, a high-speed monorail could easily link New York with Chicago.
