JLS: Combat Question
Playing your MOD and I find that I encountered a new race. Then the next turn I was told there was combat but it had already happened. I am playing a simul game. How do you go about making sure you get to run combat? Or at least I thought I would have been given the choice between Strategic and tactical and I know I did not choose the option to have tactical turned off. Thanks.

Re: JLS: Combat Question
All combat in Simultaneous games is Automatic.
And combat is viewed in [LOG] button click on the battle to left in log and then [combat replay] button to right, this will display the entire battle.
However, When you design a ship, base or unit notice in the [design menu] there is a [strat/setting] menu; so use this to tell the captain of that ship what you want him to do.
Now in the [Empires Status] menu there is a Strategies menu…. Change these setting with caution, foresight and patience.
EDIT:
Although best not to change anything here at all except when your ready. Other then design strats.
When you can think off a specific strategy you would like to accomplish let me know and we will work you through it.

Re: JLS: Combat Question
????What race did you encounter????
This knowledge is very important, so you may know how to deal with this new race!!!!!
You should give a gift or some tribute (resources) to get him warm to you...

Check out the Zynarra, they are Xenophobes and as such really don't want your ships in their space....
Don't over due Tribute and (gifts will be almost useless with them) do to the fact they may not want to deal with you for some time... Absolutely stay out of there space if you want some kind of a future relations with them...
Note: Zyanaras are Ice and if you are not Ice you can trade your Colonization tech for there Ice Colonization tech, however wait till your relationship gets to at least receptive, and this will take some time…. Are you playing a Moderate Game (JUST top * Selection) ? Or are there some Human Player Options as well?
To View a race from the [Empires] menu and right click over that races portrait for more options.

Re: JLS: Combat Question
I choose the Terran for moderate play and did no editing of the race. Also another question when I do save empire It asks if I want to save designs to? Do you know what it is asking me? I have answered no.

I wouldn’t bother at this point; your tech designs now, won’t be the same when you start a new game…

Great, you have Rock.... This will play nicely. Be patent and trade for Ice when they are Receptive… (trust me)
Also, don’t talk to them much either, remember they are Xenophobes and you will get to Receptive diplomatic relations sooner if you leave them alone!

Re: JLS: Combat Question
Also use your [Change formation\strategy] to change Fleet orders to tell your Fleet Admirals what to do in combat....
