Default Have any of you all ever played Stars!? Wanna PBEM?(Please???)

I used to love this game(still do, but now I play SE4G more instead of Stars!) I've played 100s(possibly 1000s) of hous against the computer, but I've never gone up against a human. Is anybody interested?

For those that don't know Stars! may be the only 4x strategy game lesser known than Space Empires. To see more about it and get the latest Version (vers. i)go here: http://www.crisium.com/

It uses vector based movement insead of the "grid"(you set a destination and then a warp speed and fuel is expended to get there based on how good the engine is) and resorses are very different from SE4(there are "resorses" and three different kinds of minerals you have to mine) and combat is all strategic(no tactical). There was suposed to be a sequal but as far as I know it never got a publisher.(Stars! Super Nova Genisis was supposed to come out a month after SE4 first did )

I've been feeling nostalgic and Want to see how I do against a human. I've been reading the help and I think I can set up a and host a PBEM game. Anybody up for it(you could host if you want, I don't care I just want to play)?

Oh I forgot, there is a Version J but it's hard to find, I got it too, but since they took it down I assume something was wrong with it and downgraded...

You can use any race you want, and suggestions for a game settings are welcome.

At the site in the previous post there is a free demo Version, I THINK we could play with that, but we'd be limited to just ten tech levels and a smaller galaxy, and fewer players.

I used to play Stars! But it was only the demo Version. I loved it back when I did play it. I'd have to download the demo again and play awhile to get in the hang of it again. So sorry, no PBEM for me. Just wanted to post here. But I really want Supernove Genesis to come out. I wish they'd find a publisher already. That game looked like it would be a awesome one just from screenshots and so forth. Hopefully it will be out withen the next year or so. But I doubt it will be.

If any body want to play please specify "blitz" game (small map with few worlds) or "Massive empire" game(huge map, tons of planets and lots of CPU players). I would also like to use "Max minerals" and "accellerated BBS play". "Galaxy clumping" too. Victory conditions will depend on wht ype of game we want.

Curse you Hugh Manatee! Curse you all to Heck!

Why did you have to make me download the demo? You knew that I would then have to have the game. You knew didn't you? And where was the game? Finland! Bloody Finland! So I had to stay up till the wee hours of the morning to call and get the key for the game and I haven't slept since. Curse you (and your little dog too!!)!

P.S. I owe you, you evil scum you.

That's nothing, I live in texas and I payed about twice what the game was worth in shipping to have the CD-rom edition. it came pretty fast, in the end it was about 15-20 bucks US.

I have the store bought cd Version. I love this game and would love SEIV and stars to be merged. I prefer stars! detail at the interstellar range (Radar ranges, eta's, and stealth) and could do without the tactical intrastellar movement in SEIV. Otherwise SEIVs system seems a much better and more detailed. I would be interested in playing, if I can find my Version that is.
