Ship/Fleet experience
How ships and fleets get experience in combats? 1% per kill?

Re: Ship/Fleet experience
It works this way for the ships, 1% per ship killed. (Doesn't work yet with seekers, but will be changed with the next patch) I am not sure if the experience goes to the ship which dealt the most damage or the coup de grace though.
I don't have the slightest clue about fleets, but the formula is rather obscure according to the FAQ. Perhaps it has something to do with the number of ships within the fleet? (I should run a few tests about this...)

Re: Ship/Fleet experience
I've run some simple tests and I can't figure it out exactly. Fleets do get experience from combat. It is slower than ship experience and is not 1% per kill; it is lower than that. I'm thinking it *might* be something like: 1 kill = (1% / [number of ships in the fleet]) or something like that. Once fleets gain experience, it is permanent - i.e. you can add/subtract ships without changing its current experience. I wish someone would nail this one down.

Re: Ship/Fleet experience
I made a few tests and wasn't able to get any experience to fleets. A one ship fleet destroyed 20 ships, no experience, two fleets of ten ships fought, no experience. How many ships you need to destroy to get one percent experience for a fleet? I used a simultaneous movement.

Re: Ship/Fleet experience
If bigger fleets get experience slower than smaller fleets, then I guess we would want to add or subtract ships before we attack, so that the fleet is as small as possible, but big enough to win. We don't want the fleet to be too much bigger than we need, because it will advance slower. Get the small fleet up to legendary experience as fast as possible, and then add lots of ships.

Re: Ship/Fleet experience
That formula is not right Slick. Try a fleet with one ship.

Thank you. I did say that I haven't figured it out. BTW, what is the exact formula??

Re: Ship/Fleet experience
I'd bet Malfador has more important things to do than dig out fleet experience formula.
Slick, how you get experience to fleets? It seems that no matter what I do it's always 0%.

Re: Ship/Fleet experience
maybe since fleets need to work together you get more experience for more ships rather than less?
