If one ship in a fleet has a Talisman, do all others fleeted with it that have a neural net have 100% hit probability?

In a more elaborate and tangential answer: no, and the only unique tech that helps a fleet is the Neural Net, which is found in Acient Ruins. It gives the highest experience level of any ship to all ships in a fleet, given that all participatin ships have the neural net component.

Other broad level bonus techs include religious WAR and DEATH shrines, an the Temoral EVENT PREDICTOR which effect all ships in a system. Oh yeah, and the Crystialine Shiled Boosting Thingy.

Some mods (though no popular mods, that I am aware of) included the ability to trade or capture racial techs. this cant be done in the stock game, but by making a component or facility granting techonology the postrequisite of some other fundamental racial technology, you can then trade or capture (via ship analysis) the second tier technology, even without the benefit of the preceding racial tech prerequisite.

and if that Last paragraph made no sense, you will just have to ask me to repeat it when im sober. or get someone more helpfull than myself to go over it. which isnt too hard, since most folks here are more helpfull than me.

Puke is right. But the Talisman can be shared by units like Weapon Platforms and Satellites.

OK - and thanx ;-)

I knew about the unit sharing - that has been amply explained a few times here, and is even specifically described in the FAQ.

I knew the neural net ruins tech allowed "sharing" of the highest experience ship value with all other fleet mates - that also has been amply described here and in the FAQ.

The Q I asked seems only to have been addressed by silence, thus that the Talisman could NOT be shared is an inference. As I am flailing about with an AI given far too much time to expand (see my Computer Combat Q), I wondered if I should let the Religious AI that I have on its Last legs live just to mutiny his ships for Talismans.

That would seem a useful line of play if I could actually have the Talisman help me with my fleet battles with the dangerous empire. That one is Psychic and has built training facilities in every system - a neat and nasty trick! Sadly, my Star Destroyer line looks ill fated, as the enemy is further ahead in Styellar Manip than I am, so is likely to have the defensive facilities built before I can get the Star Destroyers and Warp Openers researched and built.

Have you tried to utilise the ship defection intel project to get them to switch to youre side - if you can get em out of the system back to youre empire deconstruct etc. Otherwise id say get youreself defensive look for his weak planets and try to utilise troops / fighters and mines to make escape easier and try to capture tech that way.

I have tried intel with some success against the weaker AIs. However, keep in mind that it is a High Bonus - High Difficulty game.

So, IIRC, that means that the AIs intel quantity gets multiplied by 5!

I have about 500K in intel while the #1 AI has 131K - but since it is X5, the AI actually has ~650K! So, I have to keep feeding 150 - 200K into C3 projects simply to fend them off me! There is simply no chance of EVER touching them with intel in this game! I literally went heavy into intel in self-defense, as the #1 AI was started to hammer me in intel FIRST! Meanwhile a 120 ship fleet just showed up on my doorstep and appears to be sitting on a world probably converted to training. I could REALLY use a stellar torpedo for THAT system's star!

Tonight, I finished off the religious AI, and have one more about to collapse - this AI is Organic and is down to 2 systems and I've been stealing its ships as fast as they are built. I kept it alive longer than necessary because I was low on minerals, and was running 6 steal resources and a mutiny ship (to salvage) each turn!

The #3 AI and I treatied early and I have not disturbed them. I needed to expand through and past them.

The #2 AI is the one I am starting to shift intel to, as it also seems to be ahead of me in Stellar Manipulation. However, it is clear that the AI must have stockpiled a ton of CI points. This one is generating 20K per turn (so w/X 5 it is 100K). I have been throwing 200K at it every turn for the Last five turns with no result so far.

Anyway, the situatuion is desperate, so it's a great game! Top 4 scores:

- 9M (psychic)
- 4M (me)
- 2M
- 1M (Trade and research treaty) (Crystal)
