Default General Game Questions

Can you select which soldier you want to move in any order as long as they have AP's remaining?

Can you save a training mission game? I hit the F2 key and nothing happens. I hit escape and nothing happens in the training missions.

I can save games in the normal missions.

Thanks for your help.

No, the order is determined by the game. This IMHO is one of the BEST features of the game.

I generally had my men 'pair-up' into teams of 2 or three...when doing so it is VERY important to pay attention to the order in which they moved. You don't want the slowest guy in front when moving down a hedgerow do you?

> Can you save a training mission game?

I don't THINK so. But to be honest it has been a VERY, VERY, VERY long time since I played a training mission. And I don't recall ever trying to save one.

> I can save games in the normal missions.

Ohhh yes! And I suggest that you (at least) save after drop, and just prior to exit of each map.

You are in for a bLast! ENJOY the best squad level computer wargame ever made!

Is facing of troops critical and do you have to spend AP's to change facing?

Facing is NOT a factor, though using the look command is. Sometimes (especially id they're tired) troops can miss spotting an enemy, repeating the look command can change that.

I have a tips article up at cdmag.com, you may want to check it out. Gives a lot of the basics for combat efficiency...

Yep, using the "LOOK" command can NOT be stressed too much.

And don't think because you used it ONCE it is always enough. Even if that hidden Jerry is in clear LOS...it sometimes takes more than a single "LOOK" for a weary/wounded trooper to see him. If I spend the APs for a single "LOOK", then I figure I may as well be sure and spend several APs...

Be esp. careful in buildings, those Krauts tend to hide under the furniture, thus requiring many "LOOKS" to find them sometimes.

And remember the most important bit of info nobody ever told you: Grenades in this game are realistic! Within 20 feet of a grenade you only have a 50% chance of getting hit with anything and only a 5% chance that you'll kill someone... and that's with post-WW2 grenades...

I learned this the hard way
