Just wanted to let everyone know that programming work has begun on Space Empires V. We're shooting for a summer 2005 release of Space Empires V. We've got big plans for this next Version including real-time 3D rendered graphics, a redesigned user interface, infinite technologies, Galactic News, Warp Point assault weapons, Space Monsters, built in support for mod selection, a true scripting language, and more! In the coming months we'll be putting up a Space Empires V page showing off the latest screenshots and design issues. And as always, we'd love to hear any suggestions you have for the game. Feel free to let us know what your must have features are (*********). Here's to an exciting year!

Whooo who this is good news - some of those aspects will be good the 3D rendered graphics engine etc - summer 2005 is 12 months - not to bad.
Yes lets hope the fans really get into this - beta tester here to interested and will sign up if possible.

As Kramer said to Elaine--sweet justice!!! I cant wait for this!! Sounds like alot will be done for the modding aspect which is awesome!, Im also glad that they will post info as time progresses.
Time to ante up and keep busy so 2005 will come quick.

Oh YEAH!!! This is for smarter AIs, presumably, but I can see how it might also apply to order queueing. Anyone got any idea what this might refer to, specifically?
