small minefield bug
Again if this has been mentioned before I apologize:
If you clear a minefield at a warp point the sector still retains its marking as a minefield even if you enter with your ships the sector unharmed. In any other sector the marking will be cleared.
For a human player no problem: you just remove the marking manually by "CTRL R".
For the AI this is a problem because he will try in vain to clear this sector with his minesweepers or avoid it with its other ships and therefore making big detours.

Re: small minefield bug
I have not had that problem, But I do not use the AI, The mine field warning clears after I do clear the mines BUT you do need a ship OTHER than just the sweeper for them to work for some reason. fused

Try entering the minefield from the warp point on the other side.

Re: small minefield bug
I've seen this happen as well. Drove me crazy while I was testing the Rage. They would clear the mines, then avoid the minefield that was no longer there.

Re: small minefield bug
The AI avoids tagged minefields? News to me since they keep on slamming into my minefields.
Maybe it's w/in a system since the ones they run into the most are on the other side of a warp point?

Yes the AI usually avoids minefields in it's way (this is an empire option you can change), unless it has the order to move to that precise sector.
The problem of not clearing a marked minefield after the mines are gone on a warp point is apperently inconstant. Sometimes it works correct sometimes it does not clear. I didn't find out until now what triggers the problem but I let you know if I find it. If anybody knows it he could save me some time!

Re: small minefield bug
IIRC the mine field remains tagged until you move into it again after all the mines are removed. It would be nice if it was removed after all the mines are gone.

Re: small minefield bug
Well, it usually happens something like this; you enter a minefield with a sweeper and sweeper clears all mines, however the minefield is not removed from map. (AFAIK this is ALWAYS the case when you clear a minefield, not sometimes). After that, you enter that sector with another ship (doesn't matter what ship or from what direction) and the minefield on the map disappears.
Apparently the game checks for minefield only when a ship is entering the sector, and because of that it doesn't remove it from the map (the minefield was present when the sweeper has entered the sector). You simply need another ship to enter that cleared sector.
Of course, this is a bug and it hurts AI since it believes that there is a minefield.

Re: small minefield bug
What I have seen goes beyond that: the minefield would not be cleared after you entered it with an other ship!
Unfortunately this is obviously only the case in specific circumstances and until know I could not reproduce this bug. If I get it again I will post the savegame here and send it to MM. Because this happened in a game with my own modifications I can't rule out it was a consequence of my modding, although I did not modify mines/minesweeping at all.
