Isn\'t undead a bit too powerful?
Especially with the undead races?
Éven when i outsummoned them by using earth magic and reliven statues(the only thing more powerful than undead) on easy difficulty i met a army of 1600(!!!) undead in their homebase, playing against ermor and chtis by using Vanheim.
my computer crashed a time or two when i tried storming the castle at first so i had to summon some mechanical dragons to storm them.

Re: Isn\'t undead a bit too powerful?
this was turn 50ish btw, mid size map of 60 provinces.
still amazing that 2 computer controlled opponents managed to summon 1600 units, each! without the undead global spell active or any provinces to in which deliver gems

Ashen empire ermor has unholy priests, and thus does not require gems to summon ghouls, soulless, longdead, longdead horseman, or lictors. Broken empire ermor can summon all but lictors. Soul gate can summon endless shadows. As long as the priests in its home province are alive they will continue to produce more troops.

Re: Isn\'t undead a bit too powerful?
Thats why I don't play Ermor against the computer opponents... because the game would be so easy.
Ermor always is very strong just don't include him in your games unless you feel ready... or make the other computer opponents at a much higher difficulty level.
As for multiplayer... No Ermor isn't too powerful. Human opponents know how to tear apart armies from Ermor in the beginning. The longer Ermor is alive the more deadly he becomes if played by a human.

Re: Isn\'t undead a bit too powerful?
This is probably more an indication of my weak skills than of anything else, but I think Ermor is the weakest race when run by the AI. They are the only nation I know how to easily take apart and the only nation I do not fear!
At the same time, using it as my own race, I find it the easiest to play against the computer, so it does stand out as an unusual race. It is an illustration of just how deep this game is and how varied things are.

Re: Isn\'t undead a bit too powerful?
I'm as newbie as anyone can be. The first race I tried were Ermor playing on the default theme whatever that is. I was producing Undeads like crazy and I stomped everyone in sight until I met Jotunheim. Jotuns troops ripped my large undead armies apart with very few men. I felt like Saddam trying to defend against USA in the Gulf wars. Needless to say I lost that game as troops were needed from every part of my empire and all my other neighbours just crashed in on the party slaughtering my armies everywhere.

Pythium works too. Air and astral have some applicable spells, and communion increases priest power too.

Re: Isn\'t undead a bit too powerful?
I have done very well with all forms of Undead against most of the other races until Marignon It's a tough battle i have yet to win...once! I'm playing only against them now and am sweating bullets .I shall be victorious, even if i miss X-MAS .
